Survival of the Fittest
The impact on the economy, and for businesses all over the world, after this pandemic is over is still unknown. One thing that is certain, is that brands are having to move online and bridge the gap between staying relevant or letting this unforeseen event sweep them up.
What this pandemic has made clear is which brands are keeping up with the times and were already enhancing technology and the online world of the industry. Survival of the fittest has never been so real and this detoxing could be exactly what we need to give the once rotten and corrupt industry a new persona.
Infestation of the online realm has caused chaos in the cloud. For those brands who have successfully been able to continue their brand message and identity through social media, online streams and virtual presence the landscape has become noisy and cluttered.
Standing out in these uncertain times have never been more important. Time will tell if these same brands can land on their feet when we see light at the end of the tunnel.
The impact of the virus has taken its toll on everyone from each end of the industry. From luxury brands making sure they are promoting their brand image to university students finishing projects and trying to gain experience.
The Fashion Promotion team at Solent University were hoping to host a charity event, in awareness of helping show the community how fashion can have a positive impact on society. However, this cancellation has not limited the girls, and they have now transformed this idea into an online advice show where they give tutorials on how you can upcycle your clothes from the comfort of your own home.
This positive attitude is exactly what students and individuals all around the world need to encourage on each other to help support to make this uneasy transition less daunting for all.
